After updating to this firmware version, many of my Xiaomi smart devices started disconnecting and were unable to reconnect successfully. This includes devices like smart speakers, electric fans, and air circulation fans. It was truly a terrifying experience. This firmware version should never have existed in the first place.

Are only smart devices affected by upgrading to the new official 1.2.1 firmware? I assume they are connected to the 2.4G network, right? Are you aware of the 2.4G channel before and after upgrading to the new firmware? You can change the channel to avoid congestion by selecting a less crowded channel for the 2.4G network, then observe if it will improve the connectivity.
How about the wired connection and 5G/6G connections, are they still connecting correctly?
Could you please also provide the detailed network topology for a better understanding of the current situation?
If you cannot wait for further invesitgation or troubleshooting, you can also try downgrading the firmware to the previous 1.1.6 version as per this guide (Method 2).
