Model: RE330
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I have tried unsuccessfully to connect via WPS on my router.  The extender is right next to it and the wi-fi light flashes for about 10 seconds, the 5G light flashes once, then both go out.

I then tried via a web browser.  On your instructions and video you show the network to connect to as TP-Link_Extender but I get fu+gbsN3_EXT  If I click on this I am asked to enter a password.  It will not accept my router password so what password do I need please?  Similar situation when trying via Tether app.

Hopefully my extender is compatible with my router which is a dual band Nokia XS-2426G-A

Hi,

It looks like the WPS process failed in a weird way that caused the network name to become fu+gbsN3_EXT with a password unknown to you.

I suggest you reset the RE330 to factory default settings by pressing and holding the "Reset" button for about 5 seconds. (the Reset button is inside a small hole, located next to the button with the lock pictogram)

After that the network name of the RE330 should change back to "TP-Link_Extender" with no password.

Then try again to setup the RE330 via the web browser or Tether app.

  @woozle

Thanks Woozle.  I had only been holding reset for 1 second as per instruction sheet.  5 seconds it is.

Set up now but not the easiest of tasks and my speed test is quicker without the extender!
