Improvements for the Camera tab in the Tapo app
Description / Idea:
The current Camera tab in the Tapo app is not very useful in its present form. Right now, the preview image is just the last frame captured when I opened the live view. This means the preview can be several days old and not relevant at all.
Proposed Improvements:
-
Auto-refreshing previews – When opening the Camera tab, the previews should update automatically (for example every 10 seconds), similar to how it works in Apple Home.
-
Quick access to recordings – It would be very practical to have a direct option to open the latest recordings from the Camera tab without going through each camera individually.
-
Custom sorting – Currently, cameras are sorted alphabetically. It would be helpful to allow users to sort them manually according to their preference.
Use Case Example:
When I open the Camera tab, I want to immediately see what is happening in real-time across all cameras, and also have quick access to the latest events. This would make the tab much more powerful and user-friendly.
Benefit:
These changes would make the Camera tab a central dashboard for all cameras, rather than just a list with outdated thumbnails. It would save time and give a much better overview of the system.
