Does anybody know how to access and stream music via a USB device which is connected to the Router?

 

The only way i can access is via FTP and when I click on a song it launches my browser.

 

I cant seem to map a drive to the share either ( there is no authentication set) whn connecting with username and password.

 

Any tips?

Use this guide for configuring Access Method: "Samba for Windows". You can use the Tip: How to map a USB drive in the windows system from the same guide.

  @Joseph-TP i must be missing something as i don't see this share at all on Network connections ... Network discovery is on and i use 2 laptops, don't appear on either. I can see the actual router under media devices and Network infrastructure. I don't see anything in the router setting for USB to

change the share. The only way I can access is via FTP

Hi,

 

What happens if you enter \\192.168.0.1 or \\E510 into the folder bar of the File Explorer? That would be the normal way to access a SMB network share.

I have this working now on my Iphone ( used VLC and i can access the share) Thanks to all that replied, appreciated
