ER707-M2 port forwarding (Virtual Server) issues
Hello, my ER707-M2 is forward facing my ISP and I need help configuring my ER707 to use port forwarding (Virtual Servers) to allow devices in my 2.5 G LAN port2 to see the IP address of my ISP on 2.5g LAN port1, my services on LAN port 2 require the ability to obtain the public IP address, the error message I get is; The IP address from DDNS domain resolution is not the same as the WAN IP of the device. You need an Internet Public IP address to use Dynamic DNS. If this router is behind NAT, you may need to set up port forwarding on your ISP router. Any and all help regarding this issue is greatly appreciated in advance.

Thank you for your post. May I ask what device is connected to your LAN2 port? Where did you receive this error message? Devices within the LAN can normally query the router’s WAN IP—no port opening is required for that. Alternatively, you may need to configure your server to obtain the WAN IP address. In addition, try using the tracert command to trace the WAN IP.
One more thing: if the router’s WAN IP is not a public IP, you may have to open ports on both the upstream router and this router.

@Ethan-TP Hello, I'm using the ER707-M2 as my internet facing router on port 1, I have my wireless router a GL-Inet MT6000 which it also has 2 -2.5 gb on port 2 of the ER707, this setup includes a travel router which I use to remote into my home office network, the errors I posted are generated by tthe GL-Inet, before I designed this intranet I requested my ISP to assigned me a static address so I wouldn't have a real need for a DDNS, I performed a testi to elimnated the MT6000 as the source of the problem by connecting it directly to my ISP and it reported no errors, so it appears that the issue is with a port forwarding settings on my ER707-M2 which is not be allowing me to port foward the public IP from my ISP to my LAN port 2, I hope that makes sense, I also hope you can help me find a solution to my issues, fact is the ER707 has very robust security features and I'd like to it keep inline.
Thanks in advance.

I am trying to work out what your layout here is
ER707-M@ > LAN2 > GL.iNet Router
The GL router establishes an outgoing VPN? and then how do you access the vpn the GL is establishing, are you using the GL as your gateway ?

You can replace the MT6000 on LAN2 with a PC; that port should allow the PC to get online and obtain an IP normally.
Also, do you mean that when the MT6000 is connected to LAN2 it has no Internet access and devices on its own LAN can’t reach the Internet either?
After the ER707 obtains an IP on its ISP-facing WAN port, it only hands out private IPs to devices on its LAN, so the MT6000’s WAN port will never receive a public IP.
Port-forwarding won’t help here.
