Model: Deco X60
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.6.1 Build 20250912 Rel. 53642

Hi,

My Deco mesh system worked fine the first year, then all of a sudden one of the units stopped working and the LED was flickering. Tried changing the power adapter to one of the other ones and sure enough it worked fine. Went to the reseller and got a new one after a while. Fast forward 1½ year (so no longer have any retailer warranty) and now two of my three x60 has started to make a horrible "screeching" sound, especially during higher load. I checked the Model and output on the power adapters and sure enough the two screeching units have a different adapter model.

The OK Model: T120200-2C4 (12V 2A 24W)

The NOK Model: T120150-2C4 (12 1,5A 18W)

What are my options in this scenario? It seems to me that TP-Link included the wrong power adapters to mesh system.

Also is it safe to keep them plugged in??

Thanks

Not sure if this is covered by the RMA program or not please advise.

Need help with the Deco app, setup, Ethernet backhaul, network switch or rolling back firmware? Router or AP mode? https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/699816?page=1

  @SamBoga

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.

The power supply mentioned in the data sheet for Deco X60(UN)_V2 is also 12V 2A.

But later on V3 and above, the power supply starts having two standards:12 V 1.5 A (EU version); 12 V 2 A (US version)

This might be the first time I've received such a feedback so personally, I don't think wrong power adapters were included in the package.

While, as Deco X60_V2 and earlier have been EOL for quite a long time, it might be hard to locate more details.

Insufficient power might affect the network stability. I see 3-years warranty is provided for Deco products. You could still check with the local warranty Team to see whether the Deco units are still covered by warranty: https://www.tp-link.com/nordic/support/replacement-warranty/

Thanks a lot.

Best regards.

I just realized that I accidentally wrote V2 when it is V3, but reading your answer it does not look like it matters. I'll try to contact the warranty team and see what happens.

Thanks,
