KE100 does not fully close valve
KE100 does not fully close valve
Hello, the KE100 fits directly onto my valve (M30x1.5), but does not fully close the valve if set to FR. The problem seems to be the length of the way between fully open and fully closed. While KE100 has a difference of 11mm (close) to 14mm (fully open), my Heimeier thermostat has 8mm (close) to 14mm (fully open), i.e. even if the KE100 is set on FR, the pin on the valve still extrudes 3mm, which causes considerable heating. There seem to be no adapters for this kind of problem, or are there?
So I was wondering, why Heimeier is on the compatability list.
Are there any solutions for this?

Hi, did you find the solution?
I have exactly the same problem, recalibration does NOT work, neither with the valve tightly installed or loosely. It just seems to not push the pin fully all the way and close the valve. I get roasted in the room... My old trv head had non-issue pushing all the way to close it. Please share the solution here if there is one. I'm at the point where I may go back to the old one or completely different one.

@mmodnar : Yes, I found the solution (with help of TP-Link): After installing the valve you switch it on within the App, turn the temperature to lowest, then calibrate - all thru the app. Now it works just fine and it also works with a different type of valve (and an adapter than came with the valve).

@Philphilphil , unfortunately, in my case it turned out my old radiator valve pins required more force than the electric valves were able to generate. Despite the support trying to increase the force via a special update. And changing those parts of radiators would be costly and likely not possible during the heating season.
But maybe in your case, the pin is not as tough and the support guys can help you...
Regards,
Petr
