Model: Tapo P115
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.4.0

I'm disappointed with TP-Link and their Tapo P115 smart plugs—this firmware update to 1.4.0 has caused unnecessary frustration. It disrupted my Home Assistant integration, leading to repeated "403 to handshake1" errors that made the devices inaccessible in HA, even though they functioned in the Tapo app. I spent considerable time troubleshooting, eventually finding that I needed to update the app via the App Store, toggle third-party access off and on, and reconfigure the devices in Home Assistant by re-entering my TP-Link credentials. It's concerning that an update would restrict local API access without clear warnings or easy fixes, impacting compatibility with systems like Home Assistant and pushing users toward cloud dependency. My plugs on version 1.3.4 (with auto-updates disabled) remain unaffected, highlighting the issue with the new firmware. TP-Link, please address this by improving update transparency and maintaining better support for third-party integrations—otherwise, users may turn to alternatives like Meross or Shelly. I'll be cautious with future purchases and suggest others do the same.

Found the solution. check the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoOT3_qmpyA In the mobile Tapo App enable "Third-Party Compatibility" switch in the "Third-Party Service" configuration page.
