Firmware Version:

I recently bought to L535E bulbs. But they have different firmware numbers. They both say they are up to date. Yet one is 1.1.8 and one is 1.4.1 which means I have different options for each bulb. One has Auto Biorhythm and one doesn't. Any ideas??

New firmware is typically released in phases and is not sent to all devices at once. If your device has not yet received a newly released version, just be patient as the release scale will be expanded gradually until full rollout.

I've seen the same behavior. The app says that the three L535e have hardware revision 3.0. In contrast, the packaging says that these are version 3.2.

I use 6 L535e one has Firmware 1.1.5, two 1.1.8 and three have 1.4.1.

I can’t understand the thing with the different rollouts since I have three different versions — how long should a rollout take or how long until it is completed?

For Tapo L535E, hardware version 3.0 is the same as the V3.20.

About the firmware, the 1.1.8 is a beta version, did you apply any from the support team? You can check this article to learn what this beta is about. Tapo Smart Bulb Reset Method Update -- Reducing Bulb Resets Due to Unstable Power Supply

The release cycle for new firmware is not fixed and may range from a few weeks to several months. If your device is functioning normally, you don’t need to monitor firmware releases closely. To ensure your device updates promptly when a new version is available, you can enable the “auto-update” feature in your device settings.

If you are experiencing a specific issue with the product, we recommend reporting them directly in a dedicated post describing the specific problem.

What, is version 1.1.8 a beta version? My bult was shipped with version 1.1.8.
Are you saying TP-Link/Tapo releases hardware with beta firmware?

May I ask for the specific firmware version of your device, including the build and release numbers?

For Tapo L535E, the version with the updated reset mechanism is 1.1.8. Since there isn’t a public official release with that same version number yet, if I saw v1.1.8, I’d most likely link it to that beta firmware. The thing is, the firmware offered in the community for the smart bulb is more of an early preview of features planned for the full release, not a typical “beta” meant just for problem-solving. Because these changes are already on the roadmap for the official version, it wouldn’t surprise me if the factory installed this newer firmware on some devices early.

Also, just so you know, even if the main version number is the same, a different build or release number means it’s a different firmware. It’s common for products to have regional variations, which can include different hardware and corresponding firmware versions. If your device is running a firmware version not listed on TP-Link official website or nor provided through community channels, the best way to get specific information is to contact the local support team. They have the most relevant knowledge about products and firmware released in your market.

Your device doesn't have the beta firmware provided in Tapo Smart Bulb Reset Method Update -- Reducing Bulb Resets Due to Unstable Power Supply. The beta version for Tapo L535E is 1.1.8 Build 250926 Rel.161112.
