Hello @Solla-topee and @Wayne-TP,

I would like to propose an improvement to the scheduling interface for smart plugs. This is not a bug, but a usability enhancement that would make schedules far easier to understand and manage.

1. ON and OFF events are shown as separate items

Currently, the schedule list displays each event independently:

  • 7:00 — On
  • 7:30 — Off
  • 9:30 — On
  • 10:00 — Off
  • etc.

This creates long lists that are difficult to scan, especially when a device has many heating or appliance cycles throughout the day.

It also increases the risk of user error, such as disabling the ON event but forgetting to disable the corresponding OFF event.

2. Users think in “time windows,” not separate events

For heating, radiators, fans, pumps, or timed appliances, users naturally think in periods, such as:

  • “Heat from 7:00 to 7:30”
  • “Turn on from 3:00 to 3:30”
  • “Run from 9:00 to 9:30”

Many thermostats (including 6+2 or 5+2 systems) already use this approach because it is intuitive and safe.

3. Suggested improvement: Group ON/OFF into a single time window

Instead of showing two separate entries, the app could display:

7:00–7:30 → ON 9:30–10:00 → ON 3:00–3:30 → ON

Tapping the item would expand it to show:

  • Start time
  • End time
  • Repeat days
  • Toggle switch
  • Delete

This keeps the underlying logic exactly the same — it only improves the presentation.

4. Benefits

  • Much easier to read
  • Much easier to edit
  • Much harder to misconfigure
  • Reduces the risk of leaving an OFF event active by mistake
  • Matches how thermostats and HVAC systems present schedules
  • Works for all appliances, not just heaters

This would be a major quality‑of‑life improvement for all smart plug users.

5. Request

Please forward this to the UX/app development team.

Smart plug schedules should visually group ON/OFF pairs into time windows, while still allowing users to edit the underlying events individually if needed.

This would make schedules clearer, safer, and more intuitive.

Thank you for your attention.

Best regards,

John
