Model: Tapo S112
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.14 Build 250523 Rel 190353 (latest

The S112 switch works perfectly with the TAPO app so I know it is correctly installed - can switch off and on. I've have added the switch to Alexa successfully and I'm able to control the switch to be ON, I.e with using voice commands or the Alexa app I can switch something on. However, it will not switch OFF via the Alexa app.  I've rechecked that S112 is in switch mode and rocker which is correct. Grateful for any support/inside please.

It’s quite possible that this issue is related to the physical wiring of the switch, the type of switch being used, or how it’s configured in the app. If there’s a mismatch in any of these, it could lead to control problems.

To help narrow down the cause, could you share more details here? For example:

  • What does the physical switch look like? (Feel free to share a photo if possible.)
  • Which switch position corresponds to which operation?

That would give us a better idea of what might be going on.

Did you receive any error? Can you switch it off with Alexa voice command?

@Wayne-TP hi Wayne.  No error and the voice command was recognised (Alexa said "ok") but did nothing. The light will also not switch off via the Alexa app controls.
However, here is some new info:  If the manual switch attached to the S112 is in the 'down' position, Alexa can't switch off. Conversely, if the switch is in the 'up' position it works fine. So this might be user error in not understanding how the manual switch is supposed to work. In my defence though, the TAPO app can control the switch correctly irrespective of the manual switch position.
I'm going to reconsider the switch in Alexa today and retry......
