Setting up my AX3000 AX53 with virgin media hub 4
I've been trying to set up my AX3000 / AX53 with my Virgin Media hub 4 without success
I put the Hub 4, into Modem mode, plugged in the AX53, got 3 green lights and 1 orange up?
Just cant seem to get into the "Tether app" when i do it tells me it's connected, without internet?
Please,
any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Hi,
Yes, the one LED showing in orange on the AX53 means it is connected to another networking device (in your case the Virgin Media Hub), but there is no connection to the Internet, just like the Tether app says.
I don't have first-hand experience with Virgin Media, but according to a Google search the most commonly suggested action is to have everything powered up and connected together (i.e. the third-party router properly connected to the Media Hub) and then power off only the Media Hub, wait a few minutes, and power the Media Hub on again.
If it still didn't work, then maybe try it another time.

- Ensure your AX53 is connected to power and ready to be configured.
- Connect an Ethernet cable from Port 1 of the Virgin Hub 4 to the WAN port (blue port) on the AX53.
- Connect a computer/laptop via Ethernet to the Virgin Hub 4.
- Open a browser and enter
192.168.0.1. - Log in using the settings password found on the bottom of the hub.
- Select "Modem Mode" from the left-hand menu.
- Enable Modem Mode and click Apply.
- The Hub 4 will reboot, and the light on top will turn green (or magenta, depending on the firmware) once it has entered modem mode.
- Note: Once in modem mode, only the Ethernet port you connected to the AX53 will work.
- Connect your phone or computer to the AX53’s default Wi-Fi network (credentials are on the bottom of the AX53).
- Open the TP-Link Tether app or browse to
tplinkwifi.netto start the quick setup wizard. - When asked for the Internet Connection Type, select Dynamic IP.
- Configure your new Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password.
- Disable Wi-Fi on the Hub: Once the AX53 is working, ensure the Hub 4 Wi-Fi is completely off to reduce wireless interference.
- Fix Connectivity Issues: If the AX53 does not get internet access, turn off both the Hub 4 and the AX53. Turn on the Hub 4 first and wait 5–10 minutes for it to fully connect, then turn on the AX53.
- Unicast DHCP: If the internet keeps dropping, go to the AX53 advanced settings, then Network -> Internet, and enable "Get IP using Unicast DHCP".
