Hello, my X1500 works fine with three nodes and a fibre 300 MB incoming line.  I do have an issue with a 10+ yr old Brother BW-2270 printer, (runs only on 2.4 G band) - whereas I have enabled both bands in the network.  Both bands have same password and network name and I can see the printer connecting to one of the routers.

 

Now, for some reason unknown to me the printer drops out, this is not a range issue, the router is 8 meters from the printer and signal strong - I suspect it may have something
to do with the old equipment, I have a newer Canon inkjset also running on 2.4 which never drops out. The BW is my reliable workhorse and way beyond end of life/no support available.  But I'd have to replace it, any suggestions are highly appreciated.  I have the latest SW on all nodes.

When using an old wireless equipment this issue can be caused by the Smart Connect feature enabled on Deco.

You can test that by disabling Smart Connect feature on Deco main unit and test the wireless printer connection stability.

You can refer to the instructions below to troubleshoot if a certain device fails to connect to Deco's Wi-Fi.

  @plover Hi all, may thanks for these tips.  I tried playing around with the various BeamForming and smartconnect options, looks a bit more stable now at least I haven't lost printer for a week :-)  FUnnily enough, I have a 3rd party speed test software, using the beamforimg option for example, speed dropped to 10 MB, then I added Fast Roaming, and it went up to 100+ M :-)  I did also activate the dual band (added 5 GB radio) too.  Some things are best left alone.

If your client devices are working fine, you can keep the current settings on the Deco for a stable connection.
