Improve Camera Metering
It would be useful to provide some element of control over metering on devices like this one with very wide fields of view. Really anything over 150 degrees diagonal field of view.
If something like spot metering or metering zones could be provided it would help a lot in situations where the device is mounted in a shaded area but needs to monitor an area outside of the darker zone.
Example I have a below grade entryway for a separate unit and the flood light is mounted above the doorway which is setback a distance from the front wall and steps. I only need to monitor the area on the steps but during daytime the majority of the camera view is in dark/shade and the device exposes accordingly which leaves the desired part of the image (on the steps) white and blown out. Of course it's not an issue at night when there isn't a big lighting difference between the two areas.
