The smart guys made the camera software didn't think its a 'nice to have' thing. So...Go to your DHCP and make it to assign the IP tou need on camera mac. stupid i know ,but NO other way !

I recently bought the C220 and was surprised to find no option to switch to a static IP. I’m curious as to why the user isn’t allowed to use a static IP instead of DHCP. I can’t seem to find a reason for this. Could you please explain why TP-LINK doesn’t allow users to set up a static IP address? I find this quite absurd!

I just bought a TAPO C110 for use with my NVR and I too find the lack of custom configuration for the connection a huge disappointment.

Not all routers are able to reserve LAN IP addresses ("static IPs"). My current router can. BUT that is not my issue - I need to configure different gateway routing than what the router hands out (it's what my NVR is set up to require). I know my configuration is uncommon, but it is not rare. I'm beyond disappointed that there is no direct configuration for these cameras. Won't be buying more.
