I have been having nothing but issues with a new HS105.

I have an old HS105 and it has worked great for almost 2 years now.

Im at a point right now where I can not even connect to set it up. When I try to join the switches tp-wifi netowork my phone tells me that my password is in correct. I have done a full rapid amber reset on this thing 15x. rebooted the phone etc etc and it will not let me connect to set it up

Sorry to restate the obvious, but maybe your password is incorrect? Did you try resetting it in the app?

@MikeP

its not MY password..... it prompts for a password when i try to join the TP-link ssid to bring the switch into my SSID.

thats not the issue here.

That sounds a bit odd, the TP Link setup SSID is open and no password needed. The password you need is to log into your account in the app itself.

For symptoms so strange you're probably better off contacting TP Link service directly rather than waiting for them to help here... if it's not a usage error it sure seems unlikely to be something that could be handled on a forum. It's really tough to imagine a scenario where after a factory reset a switch would decide to broadcast a protected SSID.

I still think you should contact service directly :). It suggests corrupted firmware and I can't see help coming from this forum... Have you tried examining the settings or connecting from a different device or a PC to confirm it's really a secure SSID? Maybe reboot the phone/tablet you're using?
