Hi All

I have about 10 of these units installed in a museum and switching them automatically from a small micro controller.

Another 6 are due to be added soon.

The unit in question is within 300mm of the micro and 600mm from the Router.

The 240 VAC sub board is on the other side of the wall (so about 200mm away)

No significant voltage drops are visible once the power is turned back on.

Each time I turn off the power, this unit changes it's IP address.

My next test will be to swap it with another location and see if the same thing happens.

But, perhaps this is a known problem and someone can save me the time.

Regards

@Dinosaur1946 It's your router that's assigning the device a new IP - look in your router's DHCP setting for a way to reserve IPs by MAC.  Or you might be able to change the microcontroller code to search for available devices, but reserving IPs is probably easier.

@MikeP

Many thanks for your reply.

I already scan for IP's and allocate them to the particular building by name, so that the

volunteers see names instead if IP's.

The Router is a TP-Link_CE38, so will see in the morning if I can do that.

I guess I should really change the code so that the MAC is the critical identifier.
