Model: KE100 KIT
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 2.8.0

Hi,

I have one KE100 Unit, that after a battery replacement, does not shown the room tempature properly. It shows -30 °C, so the Unit is fully-open and the heating is 100% working. Although the room temperature is extreme high, the KE100 shows always -30°C. It seems that the temperature sensor does not work properly. What I should do?

Try to factory reset this KE100 and see if that helps.

Do you have another KE100? Try to change their battery as well and check whether they will have the same problem.

By the way, where is this abnormal temperature displayed on? On the KE100, in the app, or both?

  @Wayne-TP Hi!

I have already done both recommendations:

- swap batteries between the affected unit and a fully operational one, the batteries are not the problem

- reset the unit to factory defaults - the unit still shows the ambient temperature is -20°C

Could it be that the temperature sensor is broken?

Best Regards

Franz Xaver

It is likely a hardware issue. Please contact the retailer or local TP-Link support to proceed with the warranty.

For KE100, please use the AA LR6 1.5V Alkaline batteries. Do NOT use rechargeable batteries, R6, Zn-C, or 1.2V AA batteries.

What type of battery do you use? Can you share a picture here?

  @Wayne-TP Hi Wayne, off course I used the correct batteries (see Picture) brand new ones, and it doesn't work either.
