C210 and C410 (and many other models) use relays to turn on/off infra-red LEDs (as well as spotlight in C410). I think using relays have big disadvantages: 1) It is slow, causing loss of 1-2 seconds of recording; 2) More bulky; 3) More costly.

As LEDs are not of high power, I believe there is no need of using relays. A better electronic circuit design should do the job and avoid the disadvantages mentioned above.

Hope your hardware team would consider it.
