I would like to have this feature for my desktop, NAS, and home server. My devices are configured to automatically turn on when power resumes. A delay would be best because, in our country, power outages and fluctuations are very common. This can potentially damage my devices when the power repeatedly turns off and on.
As I researched other brands with smart plugs, I found that many of them already include a power-on delay feature in their mobile apps. and many traditional (non-smart) plugs and AVRs also provide this kind of protection, so adding it to Tapo plugs would be a smart and valuable improvement.
Specifically, I suggest adding:
A toggle option in the Tapo mobile app to enable or disable Power-On Delay
A selectable delay time (e.g., 30 seconds, 1 minute, up to 5 minutes) before powering devices back on after electricity is restored
This feature would greatly enhance reliability and provide better protection for users’ equipment.
