Tap to refresh problem
I'm trying to see and hear live stream from the doorbell all the time when I'm in my garden office. I need to start running towards the front door as soon as the postman walks up the street, otherwise they'll be gone by the time I get there. I can't wait for the phone to ring. Also, I like to see who's acting suspiciously in the street.
I hoped to just point my PC browser at your web site for this purpose, but inexplicably, you don't support that. Neither does the camera export RTSP. So I resorted to using a spare android tablet. Simultaneously, my son and I have the app on our android phones so either of us might answer the door. We would usually have the phones idle and not actively showing video.
At random times every 5-30 minutes, the stream stops and shows "Tap to refresh." The problem is that I don't necessarily notice. I have the volume on full to increase the probability that I notice the birdsong stopping, but I won't if I'm concentrating on work. I want it to just keep streaming. If there's a network interruption, it should resume when connectivity does without me having to press any button.
All the devices are on the same wifi/ethernet network. The bandwidth is huge. I'm requesting 360p to keep the network load down. The sound is still choppy. The app was only installed from google play a few days ago. I suspect the problem is lag at your server. I can tolerate that lag, but not this continual "Tap to resume" prompt. If your server is overloaded, give me RTSP for the CCTV-like work and then I'll only pull video from you when the doorbell rings.
I've noticed in your docs that you sometimes pause video for patriarchal reasons (none of which seem to apply here) to which I say: that's fine as a default, but please give us an option to disable it.
I've seen this topic come up many times in the history of your forums. An option to automatically consider any "Tap to resume" prompt to be clicked immediately would draw a line under the whole subject area.
