Here is the signal status of the loft, the master bedroom M9 is using ethernet backhaul, so obviously a much stonger signal.

You wouldn't need it for normal operation, only if you're frequently streaming or mirroring from devices to things like Apple TV's, Chromecast's or smart TV's etc.
