AV500 not pairing with AV1000 Gigabit network

I've set up a 2-node AV1000 Gigabit Powerlink network and it's working fine. I now want to add an AV500 wifi range extender and cannot get it to pair.
When I plug in the AV500 the middle light on the AV1000 unit turns red. When I try to pair the home network light and wifi light on the AV500 flash constantly and pairing never occurs. I've plugged the AV500 in many outlets throughout the house and the behavior is consistent. Any thoughts on what I need to do to get this range extender unit to pair into the existing AV1000 network?

What's the model number of your AV1000 and AV500 powerline units? It's normal that home network light and wifi light flash. When the AV1000 turns red, it lost internet connection? It's the same way to pair the AV500 with AV1000 like you did with two AV1000. Maybe you can follow the video

The AV1000 model number is TL-PA7010 (I got the 2-component kit) and the AV500 model number is TL-WPA4220. Thanks for the video link. All these videos assume you plug the wifi extender in and it pairs with the existing network. That's where I'm hung up. My AV500 wifi extender doesn't pair. It just continues to flash and the power LEDs never go to solid on. I've tried the AV500 in the same electrical outlet where the second AV1000 pairs successfully and it (AV500) still won't pair there. Thanks for any other suggestions you can provide.

I've now gotten the AV500 to pair with the AV1000 network (just kept trying until it finally paired). I'm currently stuck trying to configure the AV500 wifi settings manually as my home router doesn't have a wpa button. I've connected the AV500 wirelessly to my PC but when I go to the tplinkplc.net page I don't get the screen to enter the AV500's id/password but instead get to a screen that says:
I'm not sure what to do at this point. Any and all suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

It looks like you may have run into an issueI'm not sure what to do at this point. Any and all suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

Found the TP-Link utility - All well
2017-09-02 04:08:11
I found a link on your download page that allowed me to get the TP-Link network utility download. Got it installed and now have renamed the AV500 network/password to match my home router. All issues taken care of. Thanks for your earlier comment. It got me headed in the right direction.
