I am running the Kasa app on my smartphone to control about 6 HS100 TP-Link smart plugs which are all in one home on the same network.
Can I install additional HS100's in an entirely different home (different state, different network) and control them from the same Kasa app on the same phone along with my existing HS100's?

yes it's OK to do that as long as the new HS100 is bound to the same cloud account.

I can confirm this. Currently have 10 units in different locations on different wifi networks.

However all units will have the same time zone. This will affect any schedules you create, so please be aware. We have been asking for each device to reflect the time zone it's actually in, but it doesn't seem to be a priority for TP-Link. Please add your voice!
