Model: Deco M9 Plus
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: Latest

Greetings fellow Deco owners, first newbie post here. I have a late model iPhone, yet I now do 90% of my computer work on a new Google Pixelbook, yet I was unable to download the app on the Chromebook, yet flawlessly on my iPhone.

My wife has an Android phone, so maybe that could help with a workaround?

Thanks in advance.

The Burro

PS- Not sure about my Hardware Version or where to obtain that info. Just got the M9 Plus 3-pack last week from Costco in SoCal. It would be nice to know.

@The-Burro_1.

Hi,

The Deco app can be used on iPhones, iPads, Android phones and tablets. Unfortuantely not for the chromebook. Your wife would download the Deco app, and log in with the same email and password you used to create your TP-Link account.

@The-Burro_1.

We can forward chromebook compatibility as a feature reqeust to our devs.

The M9 should be getting the UI release, but there is no ETA when that will be as it is already out for the M5.

Here is a article that shows how it will probably look like. It is not meant to configure the Deco like you can the app, but mainly as a way to see the status of the network: https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/kb/detail/326

@Tony

Thanks for the developer request Tony. A web UI or app chromebook compatability for both the Kasa and Deco product lines would be great. Overall, I have had good experience with the related products and the chromebook market is growing rapidly. Addressing this seems to make sense to get onto the roadmap.

Is there any update on the TAPO app being developed for the Chromebook? It would be really useful to have this functionality from a laptop as well as IOS/Android devices.

The Deco app can be used on iPhones, iPads, Android phones, and tablets. Unfortunately not for the Chromebook. Your wife would download the Deco app, and log in with the same email and password you used to create your TP-Link account.
