I am able to connect to device but cannot get scheduling feature to work in the app. I follow supports guide to set time/ zone etc and it comes up with a error message "time sync"

Make sure the Kasa app has location privilages as it uses that to configure the time. You could also reinstall the Kasa app, and if prompted allow the location when you go back to the settings menu.

@Ayrshireman   Same problem.  Will nit save a schedules. Says location & time not synced

Open Kasa, tap on the top left icon, go to Settings > Location and Time > Location > select "Sync Location".
