Have 600MB but only get 100MB?
I have a 600MB download conection with my ethernet cable conected into my router.
When I use the tp-link PLC Utility I see that my PLC conections are around 400MB and that is decend, see image below :
Now comes the problem, when I do I Download speed test over the internet I can´t get more then 90-100MB download speed, see image below :
The distance of the PLC´s are only 2 meters over the electric circuit and are on the same fase.
Why am I not getting 400MB download speed like the tp-link PLC Utility says?
The TL-PA7010P has a GB port so if I would get 400MB out of my 600MB that would be decent, I´m only getting 100MB and this worries me.
Looks like the ports are set up to only 100MB and not 1GB?

Check the link rates of your connected devices to make sure neither are showing 100 Mbps. Another thing to try are different outlets as what may seem close might involve multiple circuits in the backend the signal needs to traverse.

@Tony Thanks for your aswer.
My ports are set up to 1GB and the propiertes are saying so.
I have check out some other power wall plugs at home and now I get around 150GB and before 100GB.
still not close to the 600MB when pluged into the router but at least it is better.
I´m still surprised why the app say the conection has to be 300MB/400MB and I only get 150MB.
Gues it is a noise problem or something, I wish I could get a bit more of it like at least 400MB out of 600MB

There is a really nice explanation in another post about how Powerline loses about 50% of its capacity to overhead. So, a tpPLC Utility report of 300mbs is a theoretical number that is at least double what is possible. Also, Powerline is a lot like early ethernet (from 25 years ago) which had one coax cable that connected all of the adapters. That 2000mbs of maximum throughput gets allocated to the Powerline adapters on the network.
The only way to get "full speed" is to run an ethernet cable. Impractical for me, so I installed four Powerline adapters and now have connections at three places that would be hard to get a cable to.

@UnWired Thanks for your aswer but what i try to say is that the app says that I should have to have 400MB but I only get 150MB when I do a speed test.
My ethernet conection is 600MB.
If i do a speed test and I only get 150 then the app should have to say 150MB and not 400MB, were does the app get this 400MB from?
This is the part I do not understand.

I certainly agree that the value reported by tpPLC is not particularly useful. Here's what a TP-Link engineer said:

tpPLC reports the link rate read from the chip. This is the physical layer rate other than the application layer real performance.
For example, here's the calculation behind the link rate 2000 Mbps (PA9020 - AV2000):
- The chip can use a bandwidth of up to 84.3 MHz (from ~1.8 MHz up to ~86.1 MHz).
- In this bandwidth, a total of 3455 OFDM carriers are employed with a minimum symbol time of 40.96 us
- The maximum bit allocation per carrier is 12
- The maximum PHY rate is obtained as follows: 3455 carriers x 12 bits/carrier ÷ 40.96us = 1012.2 Mbps
- MIMO technology USES two way(L-N, L-G) to transmit data: 1012.2 Mbps x 2 = 2024.4Mbps
The overhead of Powerline transmission in physical layer and data link layer is usually more than 50%. The main overhead comes from modulation, demodulation and MAC framing.
So, if tpPLC report "400mbs" between two adapters, and no other adapters are using the wire at all, Powerline might transmit something under 200mbs in one direction. Most tests require the receiving end to send responses, which subtracts from that amount. (Ethernet is a "full duplex" system where both ends can transmit at the same time. WiFi and Powerline are "half duplex" where one device gets to talk at a time.)

I have an AV600 and two extenders for it and in my view this is a pretty poor show from TP-Link
I can plug direct into the second port on the AV600 and still get less than 100Mb
Yes I have tested the cable and the port
Absolute junk
I get 295Mb over wireless and 90Mb over this piece of cr@p
Off to find a better vendor
