Hello TP Link Community,

I currently have installed a TP-Link AV2000 Powerline Adapter TL-PA9020P KIT  on my network, and would like to extend/add additoinal powerline adapters to my home.  Is adding a TP-Link AV1300 Powerline WiFi Extender - AC1350 Dual Band WiFi, Gigabit Port, Noise Suppression Design, Plug&Play, Power Saving(TL-WPA8630 KIT) a perfect compliment to the current TP-Link AV2000 Powerline Adapter TL-PA9020P KIT that I have installed?  I just want the addition of a powerline, and also an extender, as suppore to just having powerline all over my house.  Thank you for your advance assitance. .

Yes, you will be able to add those two units around your residence. You only need one powerline adapter connected to the router for your entire powerline network which you already have.

@Tony

I am puzzled that the WPA8630 does not appear on the TP-Link product page.  Not under "Range Extenders" and not under "Powerline."

Also, it's pretty clear that the WPA8630 claims "AV2" compatability and the PA9020 claims "AV2000".

So, I agree (a) "compatable" - for sure.  (b) will the Powerline network speed be the same or less than with a pair of PA9020's?  That I am  not so sure.

The slowest device is what the powerline network will be ran at so if you have a AV2000 powerline network and introduce a AV600 device, everything will run in AV600.

The TL-WPA8630 KIT is not listed on our site because the device is end of life: https://www.tp-link.com/us/home-networking/powerline/tl-wpa8630-kit/

If you no longer see a product on our official website that is generally the case, but it still exists if you manually search for it on the top right of our site.

Of course.  Makes perfect sense.  The distribution channel may have products in stock for years after they are no longer "current".  Thanks for taking the time to explain.

Thanks , is there a newer product that I can use with my AV2000?  I just want to extend my network with my current setup

I personally would try the TL-WPA7510 KIT, it is AV1000 however realistically the theoretical speeds are not hit due to a variety of factors, and it is the only wireless powerline kit left. What you can do is test what speeds you get, then implement the 7510, and see if there is a impact or if speeds still work great. Just be sure it is possible to return the device where every you buy it from incase the performance is horrible.

@Tony thanks for the response and feedback.  I truly appreciate it.  At this point I elected to go with the TP LINK AC2600 model RE650.  I will also try to test out the TL-WPA7510 if I am getting a weaker signal from the RE650.  Have a great day
