I'm trying to find a router that can be managed remotely while in AP mode.

 

The Q&A for Tether APP (https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/883/) states "Currently only some TP-Link Wi-Fi routers or range extenders support Tether App under access point mode...You may contact TP-Link Technical Support to get more info."

 

Anyone know which routers work with the Tether App in AP mode?

Is there a specific model you were looking at?

 

If it is a current model like the current ones listed on our official site it should support it.

@Tony Thanks - I'm looking at lower-cost models such as: 

 

TL-WR840N

TL-WR841N

 

Can I switch these to AP mode and manage them using Tether?

I would think not as they are older models, recent models would be the AX series routers for example.
