Any way to do this?

 

I checked

https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/tc7650/

 

but no mention of firmware at all.

 

The modem administration page shows the firmware version, but no option to check for update or something similar.

 

I asked my ISP (xfinify) but they just said I need to check with tplink.

 

I read somewhere that ISP will push an update to the firmware if there is one and they support it.

 

I also saw that this product is not available anymore (discontinued? why?)

The device has been designated End of Life. Not sure on the reasoning, but no more are being manufactured.

 

With respect to the firmware that is only pushed from the ISP so I am not sure why they said we do. All firmware is sent to the ISP carriers since users are not able to update the firmware themselves.

 

Not all carriers have the latest version due to each accepting a firmware or not for whatever reason. Asking the ISP to reprovision your modem should have them push the latest software they have for the TP-Link modem/router.

@Tony Thanks for the response.

 

I think they did reprovision the modem, I still have the same firmware from 2016.
