Hi.  Sorry for another "5G question", but this question appears slightly different?  How would you know if it's supposed to work or not to start with?  Did the WSP match and it paired.  Only light on is the 2.4G on the extender though.  The network name created has a_5G extension to the name.  I didn't create that.

Thank you.

The 5G light will turn on if the extender connected to the router 5G.

If the router does not have a 5G network, then the extender will still broadcast the network but there will be no internet. If the router does have a 5G network, perform the WPS setup method again and see if the 5G now lights up.

@Tony Hello.  I re-paired it with WPS.  First time, it didn't now show the 5G light.  Did it again and then the 5G light is lit.  Now, the WIFI extender name that we could see originally is not there anymore?  Just the original WIFI name.  We moved it downstairs where we need better connections, but after having run Speed Test, it doesn't seem to be doing anything?  What next?

@Noleman98

What likely happened is the extender copied the same name of the wireless router.

I would recommend downloading our Tether app in your smartphone, then connect to the Wi-Fi, use the Tether app to log into the extender. You will be able to change the network name to something different.

Here is a guide if you need it for reference, ignore the setup, only use it to log in and change the network name it is broadcasting: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1373/

@Tony Reconfigured everything.  Used the Tether app.  Seems to be working now and no conflicts.  Thank you for your help.
