Right before it began to blink the WiFi light came on red then shut off. After the power light has a steady on light I cannot find the WiFi signal. I have tried with laptop and cellphone.
If the signal turns red then that is indicating a weak signal to the router. If it is close by, factory reset the extender and use the Tether app to set it up again. It could be connecting to another device rather than the router.
After the extender is factory defaulted (holding the reset pinhole for 10 seconds while it is plugged in) see if the default SSID is broadcasted. If so, then proceed with the install with Tether.
