This router, supposed to do QOS by IP is not intended for that, we can just limit the bandwidth, but in no case assign a minimum bandwidth to a group or to a service. While its little brother, the 470 was capable of it. No response from technical support! Ineligible!
If you go to preferences > IP Group that should have tabs where you can specify the IP addresses you want to limit which you can then reference that group when setting the bandwidth control.
Limit is not QOS
QOS designates the possibility of allocating part of a minimum (or guaranteed) bandwidth to a service or group of IPs. Whitch was possible on the 470T +
I was able to find out that the feature you point out has since been removed. This applies to the latest hardware version of both the TL-R470T+ and the TL-R480T+.
So how do we prioritize VOIP over the available bandwidth ?????
@Tony, I have an R470T+ and respectfully request that QoS functionality be restored ASAP. This device does a lot well, and I'm puzzled why QoS - which is still mentioned on the product page, BTW - would be dropped.
