Hi support,

I purchased this TP-Link RE580D range extender but set up does not reveal additional networks on my wifi search of available networks. In doing a signal strength reading I cannot identify any increase or change in signal when turning off the extender leading me to believe it is not working. What could I be doing wrong in setup if anything?

I would first make sure the firmware is up to date. You can compare your firmware build with our released firmware here: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/re580d/#Firmware

 

May be odd, but the browser can also affect networks not showing so I would try all the other browsers you have. If you still do not see anything on your computer, use a different device. 

 

The RE580D should be compatible with Tether so you can try to use that. Here is a FAQ that helps in setting it up: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1373/
