Did lots of searching and decided to buy this unit because it is wifi6 802.11ax however when I am connected to the unit 10 feet from the main router. I am only getting 100+ mbs but I can connect to my main router and get 400+ (limitations of my phone) on a 1gig service. Why? This unit should be capable of 1000m + correct?

Extenders work off of what speed they get from the router rather than boost the speed. In your case, you are better not using an extender where you have it, but rather place the extender in an area where there is no signal or a very weak signal.
@Tony I understand what they are and how they are used. The point is that I placed it 10 feet to test it so there is no obstructions or degrading signal. Router wifi is pushing 800 but ptlink to computer is only 400. I changed the settings considering it's dual band to the following. Router to ptlink 5ghz. Plugged computer into the rj45 jack and turned off the 2.4 and yet I still get faster wifi from the router.
