I am very very confused why my range extender won't work. it was working previously before i unplugged it to move it just down one socket and it will not work anymore. i was wondering if i had to update the software or something because i was doing everything right???

The LED lights should indicate if it is in an area where the signal from the router is good enough. If not, you will need the move the extender closer to the router. Once the extender is set up, the settings are saved so unplugging it and plugging it back in would not reset it.
