I have a couple of RE305s connected in a Mesh network to my Archer A7 v5.0 router with 1.0.15 Build 20200721 rel.40773(5553)

They are connected over wireless.

 

The RE305s have an Ethernet Port.

If I connected the Ethernet Port to the A7 Router, could they still be connected in a Mesh?

And if not, why?

No, the extender will only operate in OneMesh connecting via Wi-Fi. Ethernet backhaul has been mentioned by users and that feedback has been forwarded for consideration, but at the current time, that will not work. You can change the RE305 to act as an access point, but it will not be in the mesh network, just another wireless network available.
