Model: EP40A
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.5

While wpa3 is unavailable for the out-of-the-box firmware, is it compatible with the upgraded version 1.0.5 firmware or planned for future versions? Thanks!

  @mbelinsky,

I believe that the WPA-3 Only Option is currently limited to the latest devices from Kasa and Tapo, currently they support WPA2/3 Mixed.

This is one of the main reasons that IoT networks have become so popular, as it allows you to create a separate secured SSID for any devices that need a lower encryption, which is the case with most smart devices.

I also believe that the WPA3- Only setting is something that cannot be delivered via a firmware update and requires the hardware of the device to use a compatible chipset and protocol. I will try and find some additional information that I can give about WPA3 Plans and what devices currently support it.
