As the title implies I am looking for help on newly bought TL-WA855RE extender suddenly not appearing in WiFi networks even after resetting power on all devices (including the main router). The only light indication on the extender is the red and blue light blinks simultaneously. I tried factory resetting by pressing a ballpoint pen on the Reset entry point besides the LAN port but the 2 lights are still blinking simultaneously.

  @PrivateAnonUser,

From what I can find, there is no error message for both blinking simultaneously, rather it is just that the red light is blinking AND the blue light is blinking.

 

I would first try moving the device to the same room as the router to see if the issue relates to the device attempting to refresh its credentials but failing to connect as a result of the distance between the devices.

 

I would recommend two things:

Try connecting a wired Device to the LAN port and accessing the web interface of the device to see if there are errors reported. This will also allow you to configure the device, without needing to connect to its wireless network.

 

If you can start the setup process, try using a different method than you did previously, such as manually extending the networks, or using the WPS feature if you did not before.

  @Riley_S Hi thanks for the reply. I have tried the following steps as you've listed.

 

First is connecting the TL-WA855RE extender near the router / same room as the router.Both the 2 lights (blue and red) still blinks at a set interval even after leaving it on for 30 minutes.

 

Second is connecting a LAN cable from the router and the TL-WA855RE extender it still did not fix the connection.

 

Third is resetting the TL-WA855RE extender by using the end of a ballpoint pen on the "Reset" entry point near the lan port of the extender it did not reset the extender even after holding it for a long period of time.

 

Fourth is trying to access http://tplinkrepeater.net/ or 192.168.0.254 site in hopes I can hard reset on the Web UI but to no avail (it just redirects me to the error page).

 

Fifth is going to the Tether app in hopes of resetting the connection there but to my surprise the TL-WA855RE extender I connected under this account is not listed anymore on the My Devices page.

 

 

At this point I think I truly exhausted all options with no more solutions in mind.
