Enable ping from WAN temporarily
I have a Blink wifi camera I need to connect to via the RE715X extender. But the Blink software requires a ping back from the network to the camera to activate it. Apparently this is blocked by default on the range extender and I don't see a way to enable it via the Tether app or the web interface. I just need to enable it long enough to activate the camera and then turn it off. Is this even possble?

Enable ping from WAN temporarily is possible only for wireless modems/routers.
REs should not block any ping requests/responses on their ethernet port.

When the Blink module is close enough, I can connect directly to the router. But in the location I need it I have to use the range extender. But it will not activate and run thru the extender. Research with Blink support says that the RE is probably blocking something, most likely a ping from the WAN, when activating. Still don't know why it will work directly to the router, but not thru the RE....

If you've meant the RE - it doesn't have a WAN port, it has only LAN port.
If you've meant your router - the RE can't change your main router settings - it's just a repeater.
This must be something else and it could be connected with your RE configuration.
RE715X supports customized password and encryption (details). Look at that in your configuration settings and check if these are the same as in your router.
You should also note that most RE models adopt Proxy mode by default and this can't be changed (details).

@terziyski I'm seeing the same thing. I have an A6 and an AX21 wirelessly Easymeshed off of an AX72 pro along with three re330s in a Onemesh configuration. My Blink cameras can be within a 10ft LOS of an extender or repeater, and while my phone shows full signal, the cameras can't find the network. I've tried manually entering the SSID and wpa2 pw in the Blink WiFi connection area, but the cameras simply never find the network unless I move them closer to the AX72.
What's interesting is that I can take an older Netgear ddwrt router and have it repeat signal from an Onemesh extender or repeater, and the camera can connect to that SSID. Granted, it's only getting 10mbps, where as a connection to the TPL extender can do 60-100mbps. None the less, why can't my cameras see the extended network? I've tried adjusting channel settings, and connecting a third party repeater off an extender leads me to believe this isn't a proxy or ping issue.
Silly question but can I configure any of my current equipment as a repeater or extender without using One/Easymesh? I also doubt this issue would exist if I could connect the extensions to actual Ethernet, and I'm working on that too.

What you could do is to disable Onemesh/Easymesh feature on re330 by the slide button in its WebGUI and then test.
In this scenario the re330 would work as a regular RE without its mesh features.
Other option is to use the re330 in AP mode - in this mode the mesh features would be disabled as well.

@terziyski I reset the A6 and configured it as a WDS repeater for the 2.4ghz channel. Performance suffered quite a bit; after extensive testing, I was only able to achieve 2-3mbps at best. For comparative purposes, my 10 year old Netgear router running DDWRT can repeat the signal at 10-20mbps in the same location, with no external antennas. The A6 v4 has 4 oversized antennas, but they don't seem to be very effective.
Despite all of these efforts, the blink camera still did not see any signal from the A6.
Is WDS the only way to configure an A6 as a repeater?

That's correct. WDS is the only way to configure A6 as a repeater. Through the Operation Mode the device can work as a wireless router or an access point.
