Model: RE605X
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I just got this range extender and seems to work well there are two things I don't like.  One, because it doesn't have a ground plug, it is wobbly in the outlet.  And, the unit gets really hot, like 111 degrees fahrenheit.  This can't be normal, is it?

  @DVair

Is the operating temperature the heat the unit makes or the environment heat that it can work in?  I want to know if my unit is defective, since it's been heating up to 111 degrees.

  @Resist Yeah, I am not sure.  After I posted that I go thinking that the listing is for the environmental conditons that it will operate in.  I have had good luck using theLIve Chat for support, might want to ask them there.

  @DVair Could you check the temperature of yours and see how hot it gets?

  @Resist I have RE655BE which is different than yours, but it is not hot at all.

  @Resist Received a reply from TP-Link support and they are saying that the RE605X is good as long as the internal temperature is below 140 degree Fahrenheit.  I find this hard to believe because even the 111 degrees F that the upper front panel gets to now is really hot.
