Model: RE605X
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.9 Build 20240426 Rel. 51213

Greetings

1. The Good: I purchased this device 1.5 years ago & live in split-level house with 50+ wireless devices on multiple floors + outside & life is EXCELLENT with this device! I especially love plugging in an Ethernet cable into the device & having a pseudo-direct router connection that consistently delivers over 700 mbps Down and 300+ Up which is especially ideal for Ring Cameras.

2. The Bad: While setting up a new iPhone I opened the app successfully & saw "Security Suggestions" I had not previously seen on the "same" app (?) on my 8th Gen iPad.

a) I took the suggestion and bound the range extender to my Comcast/Xfinity Router. Logged in with new iPhone perfectly to finish the process.

b) I tried login to iPad and it FAILED 9 TIMES. The next failure will lock me out for 2 Hours...

c) Error Message: "Enter your bound TP-Link ID to manage your device." OPf course, HOW?

3. The Ugly: Invested 30 minutes with tech support & in the end they suggested to reset the device? It was evening & I did not want to bring all my devices DOWN & complete the setup process again under pressure.

a) Apparently the action I took, & the contemptible language I used (to myself), is not a Toggle On, Toggle Off proposition. I understand Networking 101 & the perceived value of my action upon the advice of this beautiful company, TP-Link, However, wished I had not changed HAT WAS OPERATING PERFECTLY ON BOTH iPAD & iPHONE.

b) I cannot confirm the Hardware Version on my iPhone app?

c) YES, I can login as Admin to my Comcast Router & see the RE605X (And All Other Devices) set to DHCP - However, can ONLY change to a Reserved or Static IP...

4: Suggestions to remedy the current situation, PLEASE? are much appreciated.

5. IF this Thread is not NEW I apologize in advance. I completed a search & could not find anything - substantive.

6. I thank you for your time & consideration.
