Having a problem or two.

First, the iOS 18 problem of Wifi on Watch only showing the MAC Address, not the IP Address.

Add to it the PRIVATE IP Address.

On Deco V3.9.50

iPhone 16 iOS V18.4.1 (2 iPhones)

iWatch 10, iWatchOS V11.4 (2 iWatched)

Just showing the MAC Address on the devices, well that I understand.

Problem is the Deco App... I don't think it handles the PRIVATE Address feature well.

When I look at the Deco App on either iPhone, the iWatch MAY or MAY NOT appear? Not only that, I get NOTIFICATION from Deco on my iPhone that an iWatch has joined the network when we come back in the home.

Problems though are:

  • I'll get TWO notifications for my iWatch, but none for my wife's joining? Yes, just mine as it had MY watch name in the notice?
  • When I open the Deco App, most of the time the iWatch(es) do NOT appear? They do sometimes though.
  • Most of the time, they DO appear in the OFFLINE list, and I can verify this by looking at the iWatch which shows it IS conneced to the LAN but not listed in the Deco App?
  • Since Private Address is on, a 'different' Mac Address is used each time it connects. This can FILL the OFF-LINE list.

I'm thinking that a 'simple' new feature for a DEVICE be that if it goes OFF-LINE, do NOT add it to the OFF-LINE list, that way one could select it for any iOS device and that would solve the problem.

Private Addressing also causes a problem for me with 2 iPhones and 2 iWatches. Naming is LOST and GENERIC names are used, So I would see 2 'Phone' and 2 'Watch' in the on-line list. I've set ALL devices to FIXED, but I still have problems>.

Only way I can see this is to turn Private Address OFF. However, I still have some problems?

For Instance, I just changed my iWatch to fixed, Got 2 Deco notification that my watch has joined, but 2 went into OFF-LINE list:

Here are the TWO notifications I did get for the iWatch joining after I changed to Fixed?

Not sure what to make of all this?

Does anyone else see something like this, even if ONE iWatch only?

iPhone works fine?
