Not ready for prime time
After several years of using TP Link products, and several years of pleading with Support to fix problems and missing features, I have come to the same conclusion reached by other users. I have found the routers to be well designed and feature rich, whereas the smart home products are poorly designed. TP Link does release buggy software that also exhibits missing features typical of Beta software. I plan to stick with TP Link routers, for now, but I have decided to look for smart home devices somewhere else. TP Link can get simple devices such as a toggle switch that goes on and off, and get light bulbs that don't do much more than go on and off, right. Where TP Link has failed is to produce cameras with full features that can be delegated to secondary users, and failed to produce a Tapo App that isn't loaded with bugs. TP Link just doesn't know how, or has made no commitment to do, the software control app, Tapo App, right. If you live alone, Tapo might work for you. If you live in a situation with more than one person in the building, Tapo app is severely lacking in features for secondary users. As for the motion detection algorithm, it can't detect the difference between a human and a house cat. TP Link does produce some high-quality hardware at very reasonable prices but as many of you know, the software lags far behind in reliability and basic features. I wouldn't trust my home security to TP Link, though as mentioned, I am fond of the routers.
