I had a Generac whole-house generator installed at my house a few months ago. We weren't getting a consistently strong wifi connection from the generator to my existing Uverse WAP, so the installer provided a tp-link RE-105 to improve the connection. The RE was plugged in to an outlet in my garage,literally the thickness of a wall away from the generator. It connected to my main network and the generator and showed 100% signal strength on the Generac app. After that, though, it would randomly disconnect from the RE and connect back to the main Uverse WAP. I just unplugged the RE since it didn't seem to be helping the situation reliably. Just wondering if there's a solution to make it stay connected to the RE instead of the Uverse WAP. One additional tidbit that may or may not be important: we renamed to extended network name the same as the main network name. Could this be causing the Generac to be confused about which device it should connect to? I was thinking about giving the RE a different name and seeing if the Generac would stay connected to it then.
