Model: RE315
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have a AX3000 router, and two RE315 range extenders...
One of the RE315 is located a significant distance from the router (in a fixed location where I cannot move it), and is typically either reporting "weak signal", or is simply off-line.

The router also is in a fixed location and cannot be moved (at least, not to another room).

So I bought a second RE315, and placed it in the middle between the two other devices, hoping the first RE315 would connect to it, but that doesn't appear to be happening. In the meantime, I had turned off EasyMesh with that first RE315, because our Roku box kept connecting to it and then reporting "weak signal", instead of just connecting to the stronger signal from the router.

Anyway, now I have several problems:

  1. When I added the new RE315, it connected to the router in an EasyMesh network, which I didn't want. Now I don't see any way to turn that off... When I look at the My Devices page, it shows the router and new RE315 as being in an EasyMesh network, but when I go to the RE315, More page, it shows EasyMesh as disabled.

  2. I want to give the new RE315 its own network interface, as I did with the first one, but I have to disable EasyMesh to do this...

  3. when I click on the new RE315 in the My Devices page, it opens a window saying "Logging in to RE315", and just hangs there forever, never connecting... there are no other buttons to do anything else...

This whole thing is a mess!! How do I fix this???|
(This is on iOS Tether, btw)

@Derell_Licht There's a pinhole in one side.  Use an open paper clip to press for 1 second to reset it.  You should be able to re-set it up.

Well... okay... so I did that, and the new RE315 came back up as part of the EasyMesh network... I never had any option to do otherwise...

I managed to get the first RE315 to exit from EasyMesh and assign its own Network name/SSID, but I no longer recall how I did that...

I also resolved the issue with the two extenders not talking to each other... I went back into the first extender, and put it back on the EasyMesh network... that required opening that outdoor box to get to the WPS button, which was a bit of a pain, but that is done, everyone is connected together, and I no longer have the weak-signal warning on the outdoor extender.

So at least for now, this ticket can be closed.
