Sensors, Hubs, and Apple Home
What a mess! I have been operating normally with Apple Home(formally known as Homekit) for well over a year. Suddenly, recently, Apple Home is reporting the wrong Doors opening. For example, when the Sliding door opens it thinks the Garage door is open. The sensors are all scrambled. They report correctly in the Tapo App. The Bridge is the Tapo Smart IoT Hub. The Hub with the sensors is the H200.
I am trying to troubleshoot. Home identifies the sensors by Serial Number, Tapo identifies them by MAC address. There seems to be no way to get the Serial from Tapo or the Mac from Apple. It's bizarre. Best I can tell, the Serial Number is not on the T110 sensors. So no way to verify if its reporting the wrong sensor or renaming the correct sensor. FWIW, I also run Home Assistant, where the sensors will report correctly if I use the HA Bridge. But I am trying to figure out why the Tapo HUB is reporting the wrong sensor.
To add to my misery, I recently added an H500 HUB. Tapo will not let me MIGRATE the sensors from the H200 to the H500. Is this by design? Are the t110 sensors not compatible? Should I manually move everything to the H500? I have door sensors, temp sensors, water sensors, etc. Lots of sensors.
I would like to restore the correct reporting to Apple Home because it is an easy interface for other members of my Household to get notifications.
If anyone can make sense of anything I wrote, your help will be appreciated!
Thanks
