Request for a new product. I have used the Smart Button for lights. But it's form factor makes it a terrible hand held remote control. Please... simply make a small rectangular remote (same form factor as Lutron remotes) with 5 buttons: ON, OFF, UP, DOWN, and a special DEFAULT button (that can be assigned a particular Smart Action).

In your idea, what would you want to use these “up” and “down” buttons for? They seem more like buttons you’d find on a remote for a TV or speaker system. For a general-purpose, non-specific “controller,” adding those specific buttons might seem a bit confused.

The UP and DOWN buttons would be analogous to the CLOCKWISE and COUNTER-CLOCKWISE spin on the Smart Button.  (The user can decide whether to make them dim and brighten .... or change temperature/hue on a light bulb... like the Smart Button currrenly allows.)

The functions would be exactly like the smart button (which can't be hand held and turned - it has to be affixed to a hard surface).  The form factor would be exactly like a Lutron remote for a dimmer.  The additional button would be a default light setting.  ON is 100% brightness.  OFF is OFF.  The default button would be in the middle to the user's liking.
