Share Flash Drive in USB router port on AC1750

This may be helpful to some.
I have been trying to access a flash drive plugged into on of the USB ports on my AC1750 router.
I was unable to read the contents of the flash drive from my LG OLED smart TV or Windows Explorer. The flash drive was discovered, but that was it. No contents.
The solution for me as to format the flash drive in an NTFS format, the older FAT format just would not work.
Once that was done the flash drive contents were instantly visible and accessible.
