Archer C59 AC1350 unable to see 5GHz WiFI
Model :
Hardware Version :
Firmware Version :
ISP :
My roommate and I just bought the TP-Link Archer C59 AC1350 Wireless Dual Band Router, unboxed it and set it up, everything is fine, everything is working. Only issue is, my roommate can see the 5G band and can access it, my laptop cannot. I have checked, and my supported radio types are 802.11b 802.11g 802.11n ( I did Windows key + R, typed "cmd", and then ran "netsh wlan show drivers" to find this). My laptop is a Lenovo z500 touch with a built in Qualcomm Atheros ar9485wb-eg network adaptor.
All my research into this matter suggests I should be able to see the 5G band and access it, just like my room mate has, but I can for the life of me figure out why I can't see it, and how to go about seeing it. The standard WiFi band is offering ~20Mbps, but the 5G band is offering nearly 3 times that amount through my roommates laptop. Don't mean to sound selfish or jealous but I want those faster speeds too!
PLEASE HELP!
Thanks!
- Nick
